Took my daughter here for the first time today, and she had so much fun ordering her favorite dishes! They offer a huge variety of sushi and dishes that this will make anyone happy! The dishes add up quickly, though, so our tab ended up running high for just 2 people!
They had a "Chicken Katsu Bento" special ($10.98 including tax; Sept 2023), but the offer was only for take-out, couldn't eat in. Nevertheless, the young lady at the register was cheerful & efficient, and I enjoyed my bento elsewhere. The chicken katsu was crispy on the outside, moist inside. And the other ingredients were fresh & tasty (California roll, tofu, bed of rice, pickled greens & cabbage).
Worst customer service. I had ordered my food little bit before 5pm tonight and I never got my food till 6:10pm. Employees are very unpleasant and lazy looking. I waited for mussels that I never ordered. I wanted mushrooms and my order was wrong to only have to wait longer until I no longer could and ended up getting refunded. Manager Robert is very unpleasant and has zero customer service. He seemed very unapologetic and when answering the phone, a customer was complaining and he just hung up the phone and said he wasn’t going to deal with that. Very unpleasant and service sucks every time I come here. I rather travel to other Genki’s and know I’m getting money worth for what I order.
The guy(Kevin) who greeted me looked like he was looking for a fight. He never smiled even when I was smiling at him or even to other customers while i was waiting for my order. There was an old man who was trying to use the kiosk to register for a table, he(kevin) looked at him and said, "Do you know what you're doing?". I believe the right question was, " do yo need help sir or can i help you with that sir?". Oh, by the way, he(kevin) put a no touching sign on the kiosk after that...lol
Food is ok. I did not taste the whole menu. Just ordered a platter of some sushi. Kinda expensive, I know it's hawaiian price, but the bowl serving I bought was too small for the price. Check the pic I provided. That's the teriyaki chicken and calbi bowl for $6. Look at the size it's like a baby food size..oh they ran out of calbi(beef) so they said they just put the chicken.
worst customer service, it should not be that hard. we left before we were even seated. there were 4 workers behind the cashier and another 3 sitting down while we waited to be seated for 5 minutes. i made eye contact with like 3 of the people working there and 2 of them glared at me 😭?? another server smiled at the couple in-front of me also waiting to be seated and walked right past them and joined the other 3 servers who were sitting down. the food is good but the staff is full of disrespectful young people who avoid customers.
They're a little hit or miss for me. Sometimes everything is great and other times my salmon has hard bits and skin. My son loves their edamame and inari though.

I don't think they had much "chefs" in the back, as sushi came out slow.

Been going here since rhey opened, normally great. Last 3 visits the worst service we have ever had there, wrong food cme out a couple times. Some orders did not come out at all.
Most of the food took over 30 minutes to come out. All but one cooked food we order was cold. Water and tea only got it once even after we asked for refill. Will no go back until I hear service has improved.
